Happy as a clam great-grandma

And taken today at Christa's baby shower - showing off her new sunglasses!

It's been a week already??

Yup, Noelani is already a week old.  Christa had an appointment with her surgeon today, so since we were out anyway, we stopped at Home Depot on the way home (Duraflame logs!!  It's dang cold here and we don't have any firewood!)

Part of the fun of having a new baby is all the attention you get.  "Awww!!  Look at that hair!"  "On my!  How old is your baby??"  It was good for Christa to get out, and equally as good for her to get to show off her baby. 

She goes in for gall bladder surgery on Friday, so she'll be laying low for a few days again.  But I predict that by next Wednesday she'll be over the hump and on her way to feeling better.  She has a really cool pram that she can't wait to use to take Noelani for a walk.

Just home from the hospital, grandpa in the background running around fixing loose ends - batteries in the swing, SIDS monitor in the crib....

Christa has a week to rest and heal as much as possible before her gall bladder surgery - she checks into the hospital again next Friday, 6 AM.  We are hoping she will not have to spend the night; appointment with her surgeon to talk about details is scheduled for next Wednesday. 

From Near and Far

Seems everyone is dropping in to visit the new baby. Even folks driving in from New Hampshire.

Or at least from Oregon by way of New Hampshire. The timing worked out for Christa's cousin to be in town as he driving a car back to Klamath Falls from N.H.  Now just hand the baby back and no slam dunks Mr. Too Tall Daley.

Then again, who wouldn't want to go out of their way to see this little little girl.

Yea, we're all looking at you little one.
